UC Irvine Chancellor Drake arrived at the scene: KUCI, the university's student-run radio station on the 88.9 FM of the dial (in Irvine). He walked in the front door and was greeted by his host, UCI Engineering and Philosophy student, Dmitriy Kunitskiy from the radio show "Countdown UCI", a program "dedicated to insightful news, discussions and guests from the University of California, Irvine", and which has hosted the likes of presidential candidate, Pastor Terry Jones and Chief of police Paul Henisey in its previous two archived shows.
Subsequently, a group of some 25 or so undergraduate and graduate students, and some faculty gathered outside of the station to "protest" the interview and to ask to be allowed in to discuss matters of importance to the university.
The requests were denied. Although it was unclear to us exactly who was denying this request.
Students made noise outside of the building for a few minutes. Then a group of students sat around a laptop to listen in to the interview, while others still made noise.
Then a group of police officers made a few drive-bys.
A woman who appeared to be working for the administration was seen walking out the back doors of the trailers in which the radio station is housed at the university. She was on the phone and later seen speaking to police in person.
A few minutes after the conclusion of the program, Chancellor Drake was spotted by a student leaving through the back door and the students followed him chanting and asking questions.
Chancellor Drake declared he was "late for a flight" and then took off inside a gray BMW being driven by the same woman who was seen earlier on the phone and with police.
This same vehicle, however, was spotted right outside the administration building three minutes after the exit of the Chancellor and the police from the KUCI parking lot.
Apparently, it was left with its lights on.

No wonder activists get a bad name.
